Hop Scotch Rug

I love this hop scotch rug from CB2. Wouldn't it make you happy to come home to this or wake up to it? It would be hard night to hop it across it every morning and feel like a kid all over again.

Giada for Target

Giada De Laurentiis has a new line of cookware for Target. I'm coveting this 7-piece tool set. I think it's the perfect accessory to brighten up your kitchen and make you want to cook everyday. It's a splurge at $50 but I think it's worth it. In fact, I wouldn't mind replacing my whole kitchen with her line.

You can see for yourself at the Target website:

Brilliant Blow Dry!

There's a place in Brentwood I have been wishing for, and now I have it. It's a salon dedicated to the wash and blow dry. Most guys will crinkle their nose at such a place but when you have a white girl afro like me, it is a dream to have someone else do your hair for you, and they are even cheaper then Fantastic Sam's (yes I used to get my hair did at Fantastic Sam's) just $35!

Drybar in Brentwood, you can make your own appointment here:

What is that?!

Look! So cute and little! What is that lil penguin? What is this website? Who knows! Who cares!

If it is cute and little, I will pounce on it. I love it when corporate America falls into the cute trap. Not to toot my horn, (Toot!) but I've never heard a client say no to cute ;)

Happy Tuesday!

A little poem

My Poor Little Heart

my poor little heart
sad
cold
alone
my poor little heart
needs a hug
needs a coat
needs someone to hold her hand
and say I love you
you're my favorite
I will never leave you
my poor little heart
been on her own for so long
needs stitches
and a band-aid
and a long walk in the sun.

Del's

There's a new kid in town, Del's! Del's is a lemonade stand that comes from Rhode Island and they just set up shop in Venice. Check out their yummy lemonades that remind me of a lemon shake-up from the state fair. Also, they make great cocktails!

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day everyone! To celebrate I wanted to show you the most adorable reusable bag. It's the strawberry reusable bag! Durable and light weight it can hold your groceries and look cute as a button waiting for the next shopping trip. Here are a few examples.

This one is my favorite.

It folds up into a cute strawberry shape that you can take with you anywhere.

There are many different styles and colors to choose from.
Here are a few places where you can get your own bag:

www.aliexpress.com
and
www.perpetualkid.com

And remember, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

M.I.N.I. - Most Interesting New Invention

As you know, I like all things cute and little. This includes miniature foods. Here are some of my current favorites:

Mini Cokes! So cute and only 90 calories. Honestly, I can never finish a whole coke anyway.

Mini Bananas! This isn't a new invention, but they are new to me and so adorable.

Mini PB&J! Technically these are for kids, but they are good and good for you so I recommend them for big kids as well.

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

Jamie Oliver is making a stand against processed foods and is teaching the world how to eat healthier. The best thing about it is he makes foods and gives us recipes to things we'd actually want to eat. Like this recipe for classic tomato spaghetti. Enjoy!

Training Update

11 more weeks of training before the big race.

Yesterday, I walked 9 miles. I've never walked that far in my life. The last mile was brutal. There was a moment where I was almost in tears.

But - I finished it. I did it. I walked 9 miles in just under 3 hours. I'm not the fastest, or most athletic on the team, but I'm doing it. Slow and steady wins the race.

Little Girls

My very good friends, Scott and Dawn, just had a baby girl. FINALLY! Someone I know has a little girl that I can spoil with the most adorable clothes on the planet. Starting with this baby hipster look from American Apparel.

More from their Sesame Street line, and the cutest baby cardigan I've ever seen.

She's going to be the cutest baby at the coffee shop.

A close up of the Sesame Street onesie. I hope they like it!

The other day I had lunch at Tender Greens. I love this place. It's all salads all the time! It makes me so happy. After our salads we splurged and split the Ho-Ho. :)

American Apparel: Sesame Street

I'm not the biggest American Apparel fan, but I'm dying for their Sesame Street line. I think Sesame Street is one of the best and most important tools for a happy childhood.
Who else can teach you Spanish, English and Sign Language all before the age of 6?? My love for all things Sesame Street runs deep and I love that AA has given me an adult version of this happy childhood memory.

See the full line on their website here:
