Pandas Make the World Go Round

A very good friend of mine who knows what a hard time I've been having lately sent me an adorable email full of cute pandas accompanied by cute quotes.

Above is one of my favorites.

I wish I could have my very own panda.

SATC2 Review

A) Go see it immediately.

B) Have dinner and cocktails with your girlfriends before hand.

C) Tell me if you have the same experience I did.

Some how Michael Patrick King is like an omnipresent deity who can see directly into the lives and hearts of millions of women at the same time. How does he know that we will run back into the arms of the same man over and over again? How does he know that relationships, as much as we love the man we are in a relationship with, can be and will be tricky and exactly how we they will be tricky? I've shared my story with others and have given them goose bumps when talking about his amazing insight into our lives and our relationships. And just like ours, this story has a happy ending. Hope that doesn't ruin it for you.

SATC Fan Wear

Everyone knows how much I love Sex and the City, and how excited I am to finally see the sequel, TONIGHT! Me and my girlfriends would look like hard core fans in these kitschy t-shirts on sale at Bloomingdale's. I won't take it that far, but don't think for a second that I didn't consider it.

Go see the movie out this weekend! Cosmos for everyone!

Died and Gone to Heaven

Over the weekend I was in South Pasadena on Mission Street. I have to say this is the CUTEST neighborhood in Los Angeles. The whole street is little shops and boutiques and restaurants, and more then one has the cutest things for little girls. Like these teeny tiny ballet slippers. So cute! I want all of them.

Vanity Fair

A couple of weeks ago I went to a spa. I had a 60 minute deep tissue massage and then I spent two hours enjoying the amenities. One of the amenities they have is a room full of vanities and all of the girly grooming products you can imagine. I had no idea how much fun it can be to sit at a pretty vanity and get all gussied up. Usually things like straightening my hair and putting on make up seem like a chore, but when you have a comfy place to sit with all of your supplies at hand it can be so much fun. In my next home I am going to invest in a vanity.

Lady Gaga Polaroid Shoot

While visiting Bloomingtong, Indiana, we went to see a Lady Gaga tribute band at The Bishop. At the show they had a photo booth set up for charity. I love the Polaroid idea and all the fun props they had to go along with it. Just one of many happy memories from my weekend "in Bloom".

Bloomington Restaurants

My friends, The Jacobsens, were amazing hosts to me and I can't thank them enough for their hospitality. They also have a great palette for good food and healthy, gourmet eateries. Pictured above is our Sunday brunch at The Scholar's Inn with half price mimosas and complimentary home made cinnamon rolls.

We also attended Farm for a pre-dinner martini and Finch's Brasserie for fresh food harvested at the peak of perfection. Everything was wonderful.

Bloomington Breweries & Wineries

Bloomington is home to many restaurants and businesses that boast local fare and proprietors of the slow food movement. I sampled locally grown produce and home made honey and goat cheese. There's a good reason why they call it the bread basket of America. Two stand outs were The Upland Brewery, pictured above, and The Oliver Winery. If you are in the area and are a fan of micro-brews and wine tastings, you must check it out for yourself.

Beautiful Bloomington

Over the next couple of days I'm going to do a series of blogs on Bloomington, Indiana and some of the wonderful places we went while I was visiting. This is a picture of wild strawberries growing in my friend's yard. There is nothing cuter then a patch of miniature wild strawberries waiting to greet you when you come home.

Frontier Airlines

On my flights home from Bloomington I rode on Frontier Airlines. Every plane has a picture of an animal on the tail wing, and each plane has a name for that animal. I rode with Larry the cougar, and Hank the bobcat. So cute! I have to say, for me personally, it makes flying a little easier when you know something cute and little is flying behind you. It also deserves to be said that this was a great airline with nice planes, good service, and direct TV at each seat. I would definitely fly Frontier again.

Weekend Warrior

I'm off to Bloomington, Indiana. That's right. Home of the Hoosiers. A free t-shirt for anyone who can tell me where the word Hoosier comes from. I'll be back next week with pics and stories from the midwest!

Weird & Wild LA

One thing I truly do like about living in LA is that it's never boring. There's always something to do something to see. A new event or structure or mall! I digress. Here are a few things I captured around town that caught my eye.

A peacock sitting in a flower bed in a South Pasadena gas station.

I wonder if she lives here.

The Knott's Berry Farm Snoopy-mobile at Pink's Hot Dog's. Do hot dogs eat hot dogs?

A Where the Wild Things Are mural off of Melrose. So beautiful and whimsical. This is a welcome distraction to most of the stuff you see on Melrose.

Wish List

I have been wanting this desk from Crate and Barrel for what feels like years now. In fact I would like it if my whole apartment was a reflection of the picture above. I love the look of clean white furniture against a cheery blue background. That fits my style to a tee.
