Love Lost

It's true that the moment someone no longer has the power over you to break your heart or cry yourself to sleep or lash out in anger is the moment that you are truly over them.

Some broken hearts take longer to heal then others but it seems that eventually all broken hearts do heal, and you know your heart is getting stronger when it is no longer filled with love or hate, but indifference.

Ch-Ch-Changes

As some of you may know I've been through a lot of changes this year. I broke up with (was dumped by) my boyfriend, ended a ten-year friendship, ended a ten-year career and moved from Los Angeles to my home town of Normal, Illinois. I think you could say I pretty much broke up with my entire life in search of a new one. Hopefully, a better more genuine one where I can be myself and be proud of who that self is.

My horoscope today gives me hope that I'm on the right track:

Get out and check all of your sources once again if you've been looking to change something huge, such as your residence or job. This is a day when your chances for making that big find can happen.

Yes, I am obsessed with all things cute and little. Yes, this includes dogs, but especially one dog, Rocky.

Rocky belongs to my friend's parents. I've never met him, but I am obsessed with him. He is the cutest dog I've ever seen. This week will be a tribute to Rocky.

He takes amazing pictures that make me squeal with delight. Love love love for Rocky.

My favorite favorite favorite online shopping splurge is the Clinique Bonus Days. I used to have to run to the mall every other week to check the Clinique counter for the latest bonus days specials, but now I just have to check my email.

I went to Clinique.com and signed up for the member services, which includes sending me an email every time there is a bonus available. I have so many of the clinique bonus days make up bags that I could start a collection.

Meet My Friend Mark.

I've purchased two bags from Mark.com and got more compliments on them then any designer handbags I've ever carried. For around $20 each. They are worth every penny. The cute bag above is on sale for only $13! Of course you have to pay shipping and handling, but it's still cheaper then most stores.

They also have great cosmetics, but of course they are a division of Avon, and clothes and jewelry. When I am low on cash but need a wardrobe boost I always go to Mark and get a cute new bag or a pretty earrings and instantly feel an improvement.

Oh J Crew. I so love you.

I have been a huge fan of all things J Crew since my first year in high school. I was a Freshman and was trying to figure out who I was and where I belonged. There was a quiet red haired girl in the Sophomore class who had so much style and confidence. It was obvious that she did her own thing and didn't care about belonging to a clique. To me and my friends she looked like a J Crew model, and I thought, that's what I want.

I sometimes browse the J Crew site just to do some online window shopping. The styles, colors, ensembles and always the jewelry and bags just make me tingle with glee.

I'm in love with this little clutch. I would instantly feel confident and adorable if I was toting this around.

What can be better then free shipping? FREE SAMPLES! I love love love anything that is free. I always say if someone is giving away free pencils I will be standing in line to get them.

My absolute favorite must have make up purchase is the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I got the full size and travel size bottles in a swag bag, and proceeded to use them every day until they were gone. Online Shopping

My senior year in college I went to the mall every Sunday afternoon. I loved walking around and window shopping. I'd rarely buy things for myself, but I always had fun sorting through half off bins, looking at window displays, and attempting to keep up with the latest trends. Even though I was in a teeny tiny town in Southern Illinois.

Now a days, I rarely go into a mall. Mostly because I'm intolerant of crowds and afraid of being stuck in a parking garage during an earthquake. So, I do almost all of my shopping online.

Don't know when I'll be back again

Well folks, it's the end of an era. Today I am leaving LA after being here for 11 years. Such a sad day.

I will be driving from LA to IL with one of my oldest and dearest friends. What a rock star she is to volunteer her time to accompany me on this journey. I really love LA, and I made a sweet little collage as my way of saying good bye and thanks for the memories.

They have dresses, shoes, bags, accessories, backgrounds, fonts, the works. It is so much fun, like digital arts and crafts. My first "look" is above. This is what I would wear if I was Charlotte from Sex and the City, or if I could buy and wear anything I wanted to. Have fun girls!
